Two of my favorite things combined into one this past Friday when Creative Mornings hosted their last event of the year at the Raleigh Little Theatre.
And as if the talk by RLT’s Artistic Director Patrick Torres and Executive Director Charles Phaneuf wasn’t awesome enough, they also invited us to tour the labyrinth that lay behind the main stage. Everything was so cool. Cool enough for me to wish I worked in theater!
My favorite part was meeting Associate Costume Designer Jeremy Clos. I Definitely wished I had his job (if I knew how to sew that is). After answering some questions, Jeremy, as a bonus, also shared a really great tip on how to keep hard to clean clothes fresh: Spray with vodka and let it air dry! The cheapest vodka + a spray bottle = freshness miracle! Thanks Jeremy!
At one point, my friend Bliss (she is part of the Creative Mornings volunteer team) and I got too giddy with our cameras and then lost the group. We were wandering around in the maze for a few minutes before finally locating everyone else. The nerd in me was so thrilled! haha. We ended the tour outside in the beautiful amphitheater and rose garden!
We are still a few days away from January 1. But if you are already thinking about your new year’s resolutions like me, and if being more inspired and creative is part of that list, go ahead and add Creative Mornings and Raleigh Little Theatre to your list of things to do in 2019! It’s the best gift you can give yourself no matter what your profession or aspirations. It feeds your soul in a way nothing else can.
And on that note, I hope all of you guys are ready for the holidays! The weather in Raleigh is crazy warm and my family just got in today to spend the holidays with us. I still have some gifts to wrap but other than that, I think I am ready to go! Life feels incredibly lucky and full right now!
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone!
