When Life Gives You Lemons

Here is a great snack to accompany your inauguration viewing party today. Not quite lemons exactly, but these dried orange slices dipped in dark chocolate, are a good reminder of the good things in life that continue to be.

The steps are pretty simple and so are the ingredients. I found the dried orange slices and chocolate while strolling the aisles of my local Trader Joe’s. Since the oranges are sweetened, I recommend using a chocolate that is at least 70% cocoa. I mixed about a tablespoon of milk to the chocolate and nuked it for 15 seconds. Once the sliced orange segments are dipped, make sure to stick them in the freezer for about 20 minutes and then store in an air tight container in the fridge.

  3. What an interesting recipe I think some days actually need these life savers…

    1. You bet! A sweet treat without ovens and dirty mixing bowls. I could use such a break once in a while!

  4. Ooh those are interesting! Do you eat the peel as well?

    1. oh yes! The peel and the fibers all taste great even without the chocolate on it. I think being soaked in a big of sugar before being dried has something to do with it.

      1. Haha I can imagine it now – sounds delicious!!
