Wait, March is almost over? Ahh…
All this extra sunlight has definitely brought out the productive in me. Devang has become that guy who is always in the yard doing something or the other. I on the other hand have taken on the challenge of ridding ourselves of stuff that just lies around. It’s incredible how I think I am a minimalist-buy-no-nonsense kind of person, but then I open the closets and the drawers and there is stuff everywhere! A lot of it has to do with just having children and needing things which they soon grow out of so then you buy more. Still, there is plenty of things that have been siting around for a very long time (I am looking at you cloth diapers which never got used). Ebay has been a godsend as far as cleaning out my closet.
In addition to the cleaning and organizing, we are starting on the process of professionally redoing our yard, our closet, and our kitchen. I have watched plenty of HGTV but planning for these things in real life is hard, time consuming, confusing, and EXPENSIVE! But, this is a home we love and it will be worth it to spend some effort in making the not-so-perfect areas absolutely functional.
Asha is turning three years old in a few days. The picture below is her on the way to school yesterday. She dressed herself and has gotten in the habit of sticking out her tongue every time I try and take a picture. I find myself creepy starting at her – like being in a trance – because I can’t believe how she has grown into this sweet, kind, and happy person. I feel that I am finally at that stage in parenting where she teaches me just as much as I teach her. We are in the midst of potty training and she insists that she must wait till she is three before going “poopy in the potty”. I can’t get her to budge, so I guess a few more days it is!
Arjun has finally recovered from his terrible cold and cough. Thanks to the beautiful Spring weather these days, he and I have been spending a lot of time outside. I am that crazy person who talks to their child in a crazy voice and I think I am always saying something along the lines of “I am going to eat you up”. I am certain that my neighbors have heard me say it over and over again anytime we are outside in the hammock or the swing. They must think I am insane. But just look at him. He is so fluffy and soft and smooth…I really just want to take a bit out of him. Ahhh….
I hope you all are doing well too. And Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
