Last few days have been a lot of fun for me. I am working on some small DIY projects for the home and the creative muscles are getting a really good work out. As are the real muscles because between trips to Home Depot, fabric stores, furniture stores, craft stores, and back to Home Depot with a baby is like running on a treadmill while doing weightlifting. Arjun for his part is helping tremendously by napping and eating wherever we find ourselves. In a way I think he likes being out and about because people are forever stopping to baby-chat with him (sometimes for extended periods of time). This used to annoy me before but now, hey, chat away while I pick that color for the living room. It’s a win win.
I have put up some more pictures in the house. Ordered our King bed (because mattress on the floor is getting old). Found an awesome side table which is being refurbished with chalk paint. Bought a new rug that doesn’t shed. Moved around the living room furniture to the exact arrangement that fits our needs (this after three other tries). There is still a lot to do, mainly paint, but I am enjoying playing the designer in my own home. It feels like I haven’t had a chance to do this since I played house when I was six or something.
Also, there is nothing short of a miracle outside my front door. Walks with Arjun have been like discovering an enchanted world. Everything is so bright and fresh and crisp and whimsical. So much good energy to soak in!
Alright then, I am off to change a really stinky diaper! Good day sir!
Great photos!!!
Thanks Rachel. I bet Chicago is no less beautiful!
It’s the family of the traveling pants! (as opposed to the movie, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.)
Such wonderfully colourful photos! You seem to have your hands really full right now with all that creative activity. It’s obvious you’re enjoying every minute of it, too. It’s a great feeling to decorate a house just as you want it.
Thanks Millie! It indeed is a lot of fun.
Your photos make me want to move to NC. Their costumes were absolutely adorable and I agree with Asha – that house was scary!
