I love Mondays, said no one ever. But lately I am digging the start of a new week. On weekends we seem to run around having fun with the littles leaving no time for projects in my head. Mondays though, miraculous everyone gets back in the rhythm of the routine and I get to refocus on the fun stuff just for me. This week I am hoping to finally start reading the Goldfinch, paint the dining room and bathroom, try some new recipes, start a self-portrait, hang more pictures, go furniture hunting in the vintage shops around town, and take a trip to the CAM. What about you?
And now for the weekend round-up! On Saturday I met up with some friends at the North Carolina Museum of Arts for the PaperHand Puppet Intervention show. This was definitely one of those random things that popped up on my Facebook feed and I signed up just to see Asha’s response to performance art. Happy to report that Asha was completely and utterly engrossed and didn’t even bother sitting down. On my part, I too was completely mesmerized at the giant puppets. On Sunday we headed out early to the Ashboro Zoo which is about an hour and a half away. I will admit that having lived in Washington DC and Chicago I thought it was utterly ridiculous that 1) a zoo could be that far 2) you would pay to get in. Again, I was glad that I went along with the plans because it ended up being a great day trip. The Zoo is beautiful and can’t beat the chance to hang out with our friends and their littles as well. My favorite animal to see in any zoo is the giraffe by the way. We walked away with a family membership hoping that we will return often despite of the distance.
And now for some pictures. Hope you have a wonderful week ahead!
