On Wednesday night we had dinner with our friends Mani and Lal. Instead of picking a restaurant, we decided to meet up at Pritzer Pavilion in Millennium Park and have a picnic while enjoying the Jazz concert as part of the Grant Park Summer Music Festival.
Asha enjoyed her train ride which mostly involves staring at strangers. I used to feel slightly embarrassed by this especially if someone had tattoos, piercings, etc. But of course for a little baby brain it is such an exciting sight. To make myself feel better I usually ask her to wave hello and Usually the person smiles and waves back. Bye bye awkwardness!
For the rest of the night, we hung out on our picnic blanket with lots of great food and libations as Asha roamed close by and made new friends. The weather was beautiful and we couldn’t have asked for a better way to spend time with our friends. Another reason living in Chicago can’t be beat! At least not in the summer time.
