Taking pictures is easy. Sorting, editing, saving, uploading, and finally, sharing, is the hard part. Amiright?
To be honest, these photos from our trip to Barcelona this past April have been ready for publishing for many days. It’s just that every time I tried to push the button, the timing felt wrong. In the aftermath of the Texas shooting, it seems absolutely insensitive to claim that life goes on normally. That we all can just continue to boast about our good life like nothing has happened.
In a way it’s true that nothing has happened directly to me. But in every indirect way I feel like my world has changed completely. My priorities, my life goals, my career goals, my principles, have all had a major upheaval. I hope to better articulate these feelings of mine in a later post.
In the meantime, here are a few of our pictures from Barcelona. The last time I was here, the year was 2010 and I was a newlywed on my honeymoon. In other words, Dev and I were babies. This time around, we actually had babies – 4 of them! Something about coming full circle? It was absolutely lovely to experience this city as a family and notice things we didn’t last time.
One last thing before I send you off. In the next couple of days, keep an eye out for a post on what I do with my favorite travel pictures [ hint: you’ll like this if you like coffee table books ] and another guest post with some great recommendations for podcasts on parenting and motherhood. See you then!
