Abundance

Sunday, I woke up in a frenzy and started packing for our trip to the beach later that morning. We were supposed to get it all done the night before, but after putting the kids to sleep, we were pooped too and therefore passed out without much progress. Trying to pack with three very awake and demanding children buzzing around, meant that instead of working together and editing items, Devang and I worked separately with such precision that everything was done within the hour and we promptly left before 10am.

WhenI saw the packed car however, I was speechless with the amount of crap we had jammed in. Having a minivan doesn’t help either, because when in doubt about whether to take something with us or not, the answer always ends up being – why not, we have the space!

So after packing and unpacking enough stuff to last us for a month long trip anywhere in the world, we finally are relaxing at North Topsail Beach in North Carolina. It’s our first time here and we love it so much. And of course our kids are proving that they don’t need any of the things we brought along.

This is our first trip to the beach this summer, and I am so glad that we finally made it happen! There is something so peaceful about looking at that vast and blue ocean – and of all my thoughts this time around, the one I need to remember the most is that in this world, I am so lucky that my complains revolve around having too much stuff.
