Good thing about having a birthday in the first few days of the new year is that the festivities just keep going on and on. Never mind that I haven’t made it past 10pm on any of these celebratory nights. It’s the thought that counts!
The 2nd of the new year is my nephew Eshaan’s birthday and today he turned 15th. I must have been blinking because I swear it was just yesterday when I was trying to change his diaper and get him to burp after his bottle. Lucky for us, he was spending a few days in Raleigh and even though I tried really really hard to let him sleep in, the kids wanted no part of it.
They were up at 6:30am and I kept them busy for a couple of hours with birthday crafts and decorations but soon after they rushed to Eshaan’s room and ignored his gentle pleas to let him sleep. Hearing them sing “happy birthday” was the sweetest thing ever! We blew candles in our oatmeal and I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect start to the day. I hope Eshaan thought the same, despite of the early wake up call.
While uploading these pictures I just realized that Asha is wearing one of Eshaan’s baby pajama shirts. We’ve come full circle!
Next up, is me! Tomorrow I celebrate my 35th birthday! I try to do it as quietly as possible since I am terrible with accepting the gracious attention that I am bestowed. I am looking forward to a day filled with things that I love to do (and yes, usually that involves some kind of cleaning/organizing!).
I hope you are having a great start to the new year too!
Awe. I love love the post and pictures. You are an amazing writer! Happy early birthday!.
