Galena, IL

Last weekend we took a serendipitous trip to Galena, IL. We stayed at a friend’s cabin which could have passed for the cutest doll house (with real people amenities of course). We drank wine around the fire pit, drove down winding roads, (I) ogled the pastures and farmhouses, went to a winery, had a picnic in the vineyard, and walked around downtown. Galena is only 160 miles from Chicago and is it the perfect small-town USA. I hope to visit again soon.
