Legend has it that in 450 B.C., Pheidippides ran from the battle in Marathon to Athens, 26 miles away, to deliver the news of victory against the Persians. Tomorrow, 46,000 runners will try to emulate the great Pheidippides for no apparent reason except to say they can too, battle or not.

The fact that I am one of those 46,000 runners has me concerned. I am not ready. I didn’t work as hard as I could have. I feel like the grasshopper who danced all summer.

Ready or not, the sun will rise tomorrow and I will run. And hopefully cross the finish line as planned. Good luck to Gigi and Ray who are also running tomorrow. Godspeed.

The sun rose and the day came and you indeed ran and rocked it!!! Well done!!! Now, is it too early for me to ask about next year or should I wait a bit more?;)
