NC State Fair 2022

It’s that time of the year folks. The Fair is in town and we feel lucky that it’s just a short drive from our home in Raleigh. Our friends Sara and Glenn came all the way from Chicago just to check it out – and from what I am told, the fair exceeded their expectations!

Of all the years that we have been to the NC State Fair, I would say that this was by far the best! The kids are big enough now to enjoy the rides and foods and don’t mind the walking and waiting that goes along with an event of this size. Unlimited ride wristbands are the way to go if you don’t already know it.

To top it all up, Arjun’s artwork – SUNSET MOSAIC – was selected to be displayed at the fair in the Elementary school category. It’s in the Kerr Scott building by Kiddieland should you happen to be around that area ( displayed under CONN Elementary School). I couldn’t be more proud!

Visiting the state fair always takes me back to the many mela (fair in Hindi) that I visited with my family as a kid growing up in Ahmedabad, India. The energy is exactly the same – the people watching, crazy rides, games, and yummy food I am happy that I get to re-live that experience with my kids. And happier still that some things don’t change no matter the time and place.

Go see the fair if you haven’t already! It’s in town until the 23rd of October. And now for the pictures!
