Using Doodles as Cover Art

I am a bit of a stationary hoard. Especially when it comes to journals and sketchbooks, I can never have enough. Below is an example of how I have passed along this obsession to my kids by enticing them with personalized journals of their own.

Recently, I created a few journals using my own art for the cover. And by art I quite literally mean some doodles I had drawn on my laptop in the days past. They were bright and colorful – just the right mix of cheer one needs to make sketching and journaling a regular habit.

You all know my obsession with Pinhole Press, the photo gift company. This time, I used their Journal Set (3 journals for $14.99) and instead of uploading pictures of people or things like I have in the past, I decided to upload my doodles.

I love how these sketchbooks turned out! I could have altered the text to say something motivating, or left it out all together to showcase just the art. I like having my name on it however if only to deter others in the house to keep from adding their own to my things. ; )

I can see myself making more of these in the future for my kids using their own artwork. I bet they would make a wonderfully personalized gift too.

I can’t wait to start using these journals. It’s a wonderful encouragement for me to keep doodling.
