Yesterday, while out for a run in downtown Raleigh, I passed a sign in Union Square which announced that the State Capitol “is open for tours”. I have photographed this beautiful Greek Revival building from the outside for various projects, including the Raleigh-Durham piece in U.S. News & World Report.
But in all this time, somehow I have never made it inside. No better time to fix a glitch than the present I thought. So even though I was less than presentable, I walked in the Capitol with the intention to simply walk through the main lobby and continue my run on the other side.
I did emerge on the other side, but about 20-minutes later. Because, well, ya can’t stop this girl from going camera happy even on a run. Just take a look below, do you blame me?
Have you visited the State Capitol in Raleigh?
