This delivery went quite different than the first and I am once again in awe of medical advancements in labor and delivery (my mind can’t help but flash back to the dark days of when Betty delivered their third child in Mad Men, or what my mother and grandmother went through, or what women in developing worlds still go through, but I digress). All’s well that ends well, and I am very happy to report that Arjun and I are now home and settling in comfortably.
So far all I can say is that I came home feeling like I had just delivered a new born but was still pregnant. I felt out of control (which if you know me makes it very unpleasant to be around me) and as if I had forgotten everything about having a baby. The biggest difference when I got home was how big Asha seemed. She seemed less like a baby and more like a young lady! But my body is slowly recovering and I just need to be patient and remember what Dev said “your body is not stupid”.
Thank you for all the phone-calls, voice-mails, emails, Facebook posts, Text-messages. My little family is so grateful to be in your thoughts and I will personally return your best wishes as I get a better routine established at home. And now for the best part, some pictures from life lately…
Great photos. He almost looks like he’s smiling in the last one! And Asha and Arjun are so cute together. As a big sister to a younger brother, I think it’s a special dynamic. Hope that your transition to life as a family of four goes smoothly!
This is so very sweet!!!!!!๐จโ๐ฉโ๐งโ๐ฆ Asha looks like a pro holding her brother secure. Congratulations again to you and all families of Arjun!
Thanks for sharing these first looks! What a beautiful smile. And he looks just like Dev in that last picture. :) Much love and affection for your family!
Congrats to you and Devang!
Asha is grown up and takes good care of Arjun.
