Spring Weekend

Asha and Chika on blacony

It’s under T-30 days with this pregnancy and I am still wondering how it all went by so fast. I mostly feel like a penguin waddling around with a nugget inside that won’t stop kicking my ribs. The joys of parenthood start early I suppose.  It is truly exciting to be in the home-stretch though because I can finally think about stuff like spring clothes, bourbon, a run, without feeling deprived.  And let’s not forget the general doubling of cuteness and fun in the house.

Speaking of house, I didn’t think it was possible to live in one place for over two years and miss the best relaxing “nook” in the entire home.  Devang did some gardening this weekend and as he moved around the plants inside the house, he stuck a bench under a big window by the staircase with some pillows. I’ve been perched on that bench like a cat, sipping my coffee, reading, playing with Asha, or just looking outside at the work going on on the 606.  It’s been so relaxing. It’s like doing something without doing much.

Another new hobby has been watching the MAD MEN on Netflix.  I am late to the game but better late than never. For all of season 1 I kept wondering if I really liked the show, but I couldn’t stop watching. Now I am officially hooked and tend to stay up way past my bed time to watch a few episodes each night.

In other news, I have a new short haircut that I am really excited about and I’m looking forward to trying some new baking and sewing projects. It’s wonderful how inspiring a spring weekend can be. Hope you had a good one too.
