No President can be as good as President Bartlet I had thought. But then Barak Obama came long and suddenly the reality was a million times better than the TV show. It’s hard saying goodbye to President Obama, but the farewell speech was a reminder that time is coming anyway. With his presidency also ends my obsession with The White House Flickr Page which, since 2009, has shared some stunning behind the scene pictures of President Obama in his personal and professional life. A few years ago, on this blog, I complied some of my favorite pictures in categories that interested me…Obama with kids, with Michelle, playing basketball, etc. I thought it was a good time to revisit them now.
But when I checked, most of those posts didn’t stand the test of several website updates since. As if I needed another reason to look back at the entire photostream, I found a few new favorites to add to the old ones. Here, to start us off is Mr. President with the First Lady Michelle Obama.
All photos are original, unadulterated copies downloaded directly from The White House Flickr photostream.

“The President and First Lady were dancing along to the music of the Harry Connick, Jr., Big Band at the Governors Ball. Mrs. Obama turned towards me and, for one split second, looked right at me. Usually I strive to capture moments when the subjects are unaware of the camera. But this an exception where I actually liked that she was looking at me.” (Official White House Photo by Pete Souza)
